Stapeley Summer League Round One

During the final round of the Middlewich league we got together and decided that we were going to enter a team into the Stapeley summer league. This league has run for a few years now and features some of the best canal fishing in the country, something we were all keen to experience.

Friday Catch-Up – 25 June 2010

Quite often, things happen around the shop over the course of a week that are noteworthy but not enough to merit an individual blog post. So we have decided to post a single blog every Friday summing up those snippets from during the past week.

Bay Malton AC Ribble Tickets Available

Bay Malton Angling Club are a progressive club based in Cheshire, controlling a considerable portfolio of waters around that area. Recently they took on the former Preston Federated Anglers (‘Preston Centre’) stretch of the Ribble on the north bank at Walton-le-Dale.

The stretch runs from the A6 (‘Shawes Arms’) bridge for a distance of 2.6 miles upstream to the A59 Halfpenny Bridge. Bay Malton have made day and season tickets available just covering the Ribble, for anyone who doesn’t want to become a full member and we are pleased to announce that we now have these permits available in the shop and online.

Big Swedish Tench

Filed under: Catch Reports — Tags: , — Dave Preston

10lb 3oz tenchAnother of our overseas customers has had a great catch – Ken Wilkes, who lives near Stockholm in Sweden.

A great catch from a lovely looking water, made all the more impressive for being from an area of the world that most of us would consider an unlikely home for quality fish like these.

Here’s Ken’s catch report, in his own words…
