The elastic even travels around the back of the pouch preventing the rim from being pulled in too far and distorting the shape of the pouch.
The innovation though does not stop there. The Hydropult is adjustable. At the end of the handle there is a built in spring loaded toggle and the elastic length can be shortened or lengthened to suit your distance or bait type.
